P2P.com - Peer to Peer domain name!

Another huge domain name is on eBay. It is:

It' s a 3 character dot com and is the usual abbreviation for "peer to peer", as in peer to peer networks like kazaa, or limewire that share files between computers.

It's had 21 bids to date, and bidding has reached $40,000 but the reserve still has not been met! How high will it go? Click here to find out, or put in a bid if you a have deep pockets!

Saddam.com Domain Name on eBay

Yes that's right the former ruler of Iraq, Saddam has his namesake up for auction on eBay right now. At this moment the bidding stands at $2,751 after 18 bids, but I can imagine that going a lot higher. Saddam Hussein, reported by Mercury News to have been NOT a dictator, is on trial just now for war crimes. Judge Abdullah al-Amiri said

You are not a dictator. You were not a dictator. However, the people or the individuals and officials surrounding you created a dictator.

This will obviously anger lots of folks because from where they were sitting he looked an awful lot like a dictator.

Saddam is now synonymous with the former Iraqi leader, but let us not forget it is just a first name and many other people may want to buy it for something completely unrelated to Hussein. To keep an eye on it, or put in a bid for it click here.

*edit: Auction ended at US $3,149.00

Seattle Supersonics Shaving Bag

Yes you can sell almost anything on eBay! Even a 15 year old skanky shaving bag.
It has a broken zipper, and it comes complete with holes (tiny apparently) and toothpaste stains.
Maybe this will have some sort of sentimental value to someone, or a die-hard Supersonics fan, I don't know.

It does have 8 bids so far though, maybe it's the free shipping which is attracting the bidders?
If you are a Supersonics fan here is the link to the auction.

Dunkin Donuts Drinking Cup

Another weird auction that seems to be attraction a lot of bids is this one from seller ezas123, the same seller that sold the Kool Aid Packet. Incredibly, it's had over 9000 views, and 28 bids so far. Why, for goodness sake it's just a Dunkin Donuts Cup?
The auction listing tells us that the new slogan of the company is

America Runs on Dunkin

but the seller does not seem too enamoured with the service he/she received and has a minor rant about it! It comes with a bonus gift, but it would have to be one pretty amazing gift for me to put in an offer as the current bid stands at £1,375.00

Duane Keiser's Painting a day

Duane Keiser is an artist (born 1966) from South Carolina who makes one painting every day and sells it on eBay. There is not much information on Duane's auction listings other than:
"Postcard Paintings by Duane Keiser: original postcard-sized oil paintings. I make one painting each day. Google my name for more details."
What's weird about this auction? Well an artist actually making money from their work is an oddity in itself, but this artist is using the using the power of blogging and eBay to get the work out to as many people as possible.

You can bid for "Strawberries No.7" here, or see other work by Duane here.

Ever believe in faeries at the bottom of your garden? If you do, take a look at this auction ending very soon. This mini sculpture is made of polymer clay and and is one of a kind. The attention to detail is just incredible. The seller faerielady states in the description that no molds were used in the creation of this miniature work of art. Yes that's right, entirely sculpted by hand. Pretty impressive, might almost have me believing in fairies!

Porn Organisation

Like it or loathe it, you can't deny it, porn is big business, and a large part of the world wide web is made up of it. On eBay right now is a huge opportunity for anyone interested in buying a dot org domain name with one of the most popular keywords typed in each month. It' would be an ideal name for companies like Hustler or Playboy to bid on and own, but unfortunately it will probably take a large company with a large bank balance to own it, as the starting bid is $1000,000!

That sounds like a lot but some things never go out of fashion. I'm hoping that a billionaire practical joker buys the name and redirects it to the official Vatican website. Is it just me or does anyone else think like that?

Here is the link to the auction.
